We are so thrilled to welcome Dan Beck back to Clayton, NC for this intimate setting for the first 8 students that grab their seat.  He will do a demo each day and also a critique of all the painter’s works on the last day of our class.

Dan Beck is an award-winning, amazing artist, that uses impressionistic approaches in his paintings. You can find his works at www.BeckFineArt.com online or in his very own gallery in Wilmington, NC.  May I add, Dan is also a very kind person that enjoys to share his knowledge with his students. 

This is a two-day workshop.  The first day will focus on landscapes from your own reference or from some of the Dan’s references.  There will also be two still-life arrangements set up in the center of each table grouping for your usage as well.  The second day will focus on head studies.  We will include a live clothed model for the first two hours.  Paint from your photos the rest of the day or paint another new reference. This could be either yours or one Dan brings in for your use. The second half of the second day use to complete some works.

He will demo each day and work along with the students, assisting them along the way when needed. Focus will be on composition, use of color, marks, texture, line, and more.  A suggested supply list will be emailed once class is full and again two weeks prior to class. Plan on good starts or completing 2-4 paintings

This class is suggested for those that have some experience with holding a brush and some painting skills.  We will be working on tables with easels which hold a substrate of 12×16 max. The larger ones just will not work in the space allotted for you. It will be your choice of either acrylic or oil. Only odorless solvents with air tight lids will be allowed in the space. Use sparingly please.

We do have a fridge, if you want to bring a lunch. Bring a lidded drink and we will have filtered water for refills.  We will also offer light snacks during the lunch break.
