Class Description

This class meet-up is the first of its kind for the Clayton area. If you have ever wanted to try to draw people, faces, gestures, the figure, this class is a way to sharpen your hand to eye skills, as long as you agree to model for the class. Models will rotate- It is the only way to keep the group working free of charge. This is a start to try something new that will benefit many in more ways than just doing head studies and figurative.

The models with their poses are with figures fully dressed. In fact we might add some bling to them. They will hold the poses for various times. It would be best to switch a model once during each class. The class is meant to be fun and to learn how to work up head studies and figures. If you would like to volunteer to be a model and not be an artist in the class, we would encourage that and you might end up getting an artist's portrait of yourself. No guarantees. 😀👩‍🎨🎨

We do have table easels and water containers if you will paint, but the easels only hold up to 18 in height. Please do not bring in any substrate larger than 12x16 since we only have two hours.

If you intend to use oils, only odorless solvent is allowed and lid must be closed and open for limited times. You will be allowed only 36" wide of table space in a full class. The gallery will not be open so we will have the whole place but you can buy something if you need a gift. We would love that 🙂

NOTE: This class will follow a second Monday time frame unless gallery can not be open that date and it noted on our website. It will also be announced on our newsletter so be sure to get it. I would advise to be sure to follow those dates closer.

Materials allowed are:

• pencils, colored or graphite
• watercolors- pencils or paints
• acrylics or oils
• no clay, pastels, or anything that creates dust or mess, and no glitter ever....please!
• a lidded drink to have during the class
