JJ Jiang, OPA, NWS, WSNCM, is a nationally award-winning master artist in both watercolor and oil paintings. His works are in many national galleries. His style is unique and intriguing, using his expertise in color and perspective. He has a wealth of information, is highly talented and is a career artist. He has taught both watercolor and oil class for years. You can also see his work at his gallery in Cary. He recently judged the Wilmington Art Association event for the azalea festival.

We are excited to offer this unique experience. In this class, you will bring your own "PRINTED" references, making sure you have enough contrast in them. Depending at what stage you are in your art journey, he will help you get to the next level. He will work the room with each student giving advice and suggestions. He will not be doing demos. You can bring a painting you would like to finish as well. You may decide to do one painting in watercolor and one in oil, like he did on the attached images.

The class is for any painter that knows how to mix colors in their medium of choice (odorless solvent like Gamsol only for oil painters), hold a brush, get started and set with their project. Students are responsible for ALL supplies. We do have some small water containers for those of you that are doing watercolor.

This is a one on one type of workshop experience with a limit to the first 8 students. Class will decide if they would like a group critique for the last 15 min.

SUPPLIES: Students bring all, your choice of colors, brushes, mediums and substrates. No supply list. This is to help you in your journey with what colors you are drawn to. Watercolor Blocks should be no more than 24” wide and the maximum size our table easel will hold is 12x16 for a canvas or canvas panel. We do not allow floor easels. Everyone will be seated in this classroom.

Additional supplies we recommend: If painting with oils, no only odorless solvents, Solvents must be stored with a covered airtight lid. We also recommend a pizza box to put your wet paintings in for transporting them. Some gloves to keep the mess in the workroom. Take off to use facilities.

There will be a break for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch. Also a lidded drink. We will provide some small snacks and filtered water.
