Lyudmila is a highly acclaimed, awarded, international artist that dives head first into many en plein- air painting (live painting) events across the country, enters and wins many juried shows and is a highly collectible artist. She is a delight to be around and is all positive energy. Whatever you enjoy painting, Lyudmila Tomova Clark, will bring richness and spontaneity to your canvas by teaching you how to release your fears. She has a great spirit, a love for people and life. By teaching simple elements of design and processes, Lyudmila has harnessed the magic with all mediums and will share her technique and guide you to your new relaxed style. She will not have demos nor will she insist you paint with a certain medium. Watercolor, acrylic, or oil with odorless solvents are fine. There will be a still life set up at each table grouping if you’re into that. Or you can bring your own references and Lyudmila will bring a few. Make sure you have strong contrast in your own photos. Also, expect to further develop your style in any medium, while loosening up your deliberate brush strokes to improve value and vibrancy, creating drama and interesting artwork. Most of the day you will paint while she works the room helping you with color, design and composition. At the end there will be a 30 min critique.

This is a limited space room with a max of 8 students, therefore, plan on 2-3, 12”x16" MAX substrates using our table easel and up to 18" if working flat like a watercolor block .Your area of space is 36"Wx30"D. Storage is beneath the table.

A suggested supply list will be emailed 2-3 weeks before the class. The basics will be your paints, yellow, blue and red, (warm and cool of each) and white. Brushes you like, an apron, gloves, baby wipes for brushes and your substrates. If working with acrylic/watercolors we will have a dump bucket for the dirty water and you can use our water containers.

Note: If you are painting with OIL, please use only odorless solvents in an airtight container only. Use it sparingly and close lids. (some folks sensitive to any medium or solvent) Oil painters please bring your box to transport your painting from easel, to box, to your car. Also, baby wipes to clean off your brushes and hands before entering the gallery

We will break for a 30 min lunch break. Feel free to bring lunch and a lidded drink. We do have a fridge. There will be filtered water and some light snacks available.
